Eventful Super Bowl
We decided to have a party for the Super Bowl. We thought it would be neat since we have the big TV hung on the wall and the space to host the party. I made a ton of food and a ton of food was brought. I made sweet and sour meatballs with rice, football cake balls, peanut butter Cheerios bundles, chip/veggie dip. Grandma and Grandpa Kraaima brought nacho cheese sauce, and my mother-in-law brought broccoli cheese soup. I'm pretty sure we are set with leftovers for awhile. Everyone sat and watched the game and enjoyed each others company. After the game was over some more friends showed up. Everyone decided to play this sock monkey game we recently received. Someone hides the monkey and you give clues on where it's at to find it. Yes, this game is meant for kids, but we are all kids at heart. In the middle of the game I was doing dishes and my brother-in-law Patrick game flying downstairs and told me something was wrong with Dave, so I run upstairs and find Dave grasping his chest. I asked what happened and he said he was running and his chest made a huge pop and he collapsed. Thankfully, my mother-in-law was over because I am clueless on this stuff. We lifted up his shirt and he had a huge lump on his chest. It was definitely unusual and we could tell it wasn't normal. We looked at the time and it was a little after 9pm. Of course insta care closed at 9. Emergency room here we come. The hospital was packed!!! We finally got taken back and as they tell us what room we will be in I looked up...... It was the same exact room my dad was in when we took him to the ER. I about passed out and threw up at the same time. It took me about 10 minutes before I would enter the room. I had so much anxiety and flash backs to that horrible night. I finally decided I needed to go in the room to support Dave and find out what's going on. The doctor came in and did his normal routine. He decided Dave needed an X-ray to make sure the bones were fine. They were also concerned with his lungs because the pop could've made anything go towards his lungs and puncture them. Everything for his lungs came back fine, but the X-ray showed that something in his chest had popped out of socket and popped back into socket. The lump was a big hunk of cartilage. There's nothing you can do for it, but ice it and take some anti-inflammatory. I'm glad nothing too serious happened. Thankfully, Dave has double covered insurance! Woooo! After getting in after 2pm, the stubborn man got up at 4:30 this morning and went off to work. I don't know how he's functioning because I didn't have to be to work til 8 and I'm barely keeping my eyes open as we speak. I would love a nap!
